What Will My Child Be Learning?

Me & My Shadow – Ages 2 – 2 1/2
Dress Code: favorite color leotard, pink tights and slippers.
Basic arm positions, five basic foot positions (working mostly in 1st and 2nd position), and ballet vocabulary through well known children’s songs and original learning songs from our syllabus. Classes will emphasize learning to take turns and share.

Pink Group – Ages 3 – 3 1/2
Dress code: hair up, pink leotard, tights and slippers.
The above will be covered. In addition, dancing independently, balance, flexibility and musicality will be taught. New vocabulary will be introduced and some classes will share stories from full length ballets.

White Group – Ages 4 – 4 1/2
Dress code: hair up, white leotard, pink tights and slippers.
The above will be covered. In addition, work at the barre, developing strength, and grace will be emphasized. Center floor will cover petite allegro and spotting for introduction of pirouette and turns.

Light Blue / BPC Group – Ages 5 - 7
Dress code: hair up, black leotard, pink tights and slippers.
The above will be covered. In addition, more work at the barre (2 hands on barre) with emphasis on turn out and rotation from the hips. Center floor will cover more work on correct placement and incorporating epaulement.

Royal Blue – Ages 5 and up
Dress code: hair up, black leotard, pink tights and slippers.
The above will be covered. This class will move at a quicker pace and work more in 5th position. Study at the barre will at times use one hand. Students will be challenged to remember combinations more independently.

Burgundy / Navy – Ages 7 and up
Dress code: hair up, black leotard, pink tights and slippers.
The above will be covered. The study of pirouettes, grand allegro, waltz turns and extensions will be the focus. Further work on pique turns, and work across the floor.

Jr. Company Apprentice & Pointe – Varies
Dress code: hair up, black leotard, pink tights and slippers.
